The Forum is organized within the framework of the National Scientific Programme \u201cDevelopment and Promotion of Bulgarian Studies Abroad\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that the Bulgarian studies abroad and the contributions of foreign scholars, scientific groups and ideological currents from different fields of humanities to the study of Bulgarian history and culture will be presented in a historical context.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Paper presentations: up to 15 minutes.<br \/>\nWorking languages: Bulgarian, English.<br \/>\nWays of participation: in person or online using ZOOM platform.<br \/>\nParticipation is free of charge.<\/p>\n<p><em>Possible travel and accommodation <\/em><em>expenses are<\/em>&nbsp;borne by the participants.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome your applications until <strong>30 July 2024<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/ihist.bas.bg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Part-Form_Sofia_12-13112024.docx\">via the form attached here<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>by emailing it to <a href=\"mailto:bgstudies@abv.bg\">bgstudies@abv.bg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Accepted conference papers will be published in a book (printed). The deadline for submitting their final versions (up to 40 000 characters with spaces) is <strong>20 December 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><strong>October 30, 2023<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h4><strong>A CALL FOR SPECIALIZATIONS OF YOUNG FOREIGN BULGARIAN STUDIES RESEARCHERS <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Institute for Historical Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences announces short term specializations (from 1 to 3 months) for young foreign Bulgarian Studies researchers with the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Eligibility to apply for specialization under the <em>Development and Recognition Bulgarian Studies Abroad<\/em> National Scientific Programme: every young foreign Bulgarian Studies researcher (MA, PhD, postdoctoral researcher), who works on a Bulgarian studies problematic in the fields of history and auxiliary historical sciences.<\/li>\n<li>The length of the specialization at the Institute for Historical Studies is from 1 to 3 months.<\/li>\n<li>The institution selected for specialization, provides academic mentorship on a research topic, methodological assistance, consultations with other tutors and researchers.<br \/>\n<em>Suggested topics<\/em> by the Institute for Historical Studies are as follows:<br \/>\n3.1. Bulgarian History \u2013 Sources, Historiography, Memory and Uses of the Past<br \/>\n3.2. History of the Bulgarian Communities Abroad<\/li>\n<li>Each candidate completes an <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/jxxcx7sfGa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application<u> form<\/u><\/a> and sends it along with attachments to <strong><em>email<\/em><\/strong>: istoricalbulgarianstudies@gmail.com, as well as to the stated in the application <strong><em>email<\/em><\/strong> with clearly designated file names: CV (CV \u2013 Europass format), motivation letter (up to 2 standard pages or 3600 characters), a reference from employer or academic mentor (if applicable, 1 page), documents with other information for achievements in the field of Bulgarian studies.<\/li>\n<li>The selected specialization candidate provides a specialization plan, which includes individual work, consultations, training courses (elective ones). As a result of the specialization, it is expected that a research paper will be prepared. At the end of the specialization period, the specialization candidate submits a report to his academic mentor.<\/li>\n<li>Monthly scholarship provided by the Institute for Historical Studies is 1000 levs (scholarship includes expenses for accommodation, copies of documents, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>The host institution offers help with the accommodation of the specialization candidate.<\/li>\n<li>Travel expenses are covered by the specialization candidate.<\/li>\n<li>The period of specialization is stated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/jxxcx7sfGa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application<u> form<\/u><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The host institution makes a contact and communicates with the selected specialization candidate via the appointed person in the relevant correspondence<\/li>\n<li>Deadlines for application:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(Second call)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8211; 1<sup>st<\/sup> October2023: deadline for submission of applications<br \/>\n&#8211; 20<sup>th<\/sup> &nbsp;October 2023: &nbsp;public announcement of the approved candidates<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">The Executive Board of<br \/>\n<em>Development and Recognition of Bulgarian Studies Abroad<br \/>\n<\/em>National Scientific Programme<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>CALL TO SUPPORT YOUNG RESEARCHERS WITH THE PUBLUCATION OF THEIR FIRST MONOGRAPH DEDICATED TO BULGARIAN STUDIES PROBLEMATICS<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>First call<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ANNOUNCEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of the <em>Development and Recognition of Bulgarian Studies Abroad<\/em> National Scientific Programme, launched by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Institute of Arts Studies at BAS announces a competition to support foreign young researchers in the publication of their first monograph dedicated to Bulgarian studies problematic.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I. Application requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Eligible applicants: <strong>young scholars<\/strong> (e. researchers up to 10 years after their master\u2019s graduation) and <strong>postdoctoral researchers<\/strong> (i.e. scholars, holding a PH.D, their doctoral degree should have been acquired in the past 5 years).<\/li>\n<li>Young researchers are eligible to apply with a monograph, which meets the following criteria:<br \/>\n2.1. The main focus of their work is Bulgarian studies problematic.<br \/>\n2.2. The work is going to be the young scholar\u2019s first published monograph.<br \/>\n2.3. Works published in a different language are also eligible, if the publication is made within the last three years before the date of the call.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The <em>Development and Recognition of Bulgarian Studies Abroad<\/em> National Scientific Programme finances the publication of the approved works by a Bulgarian academic publisher. In case of a need, additional financial support could be provided for the translation into Bulgarian and the specific editorial activities related to the Bulgarian publication, as well as short term stays of the young researcher in Bulgaria funded for the preparation and promotion of their published monographs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>II. Application procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants should send the following documents via email:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Application form (no template).<\/li>\n<li>Biographical note.<\/li>\n<li>The monograph in a PDF format.<\/li>\n<li>If the candidate\u2019s work has not been defended as a doctoral thesis, two reviews by established scholars in the specific field should be included.<\/li>\n<li>If the work is written in another language, then the following documents <u>in Bulgarian<\/u> should be submitted:<br \/>\n5.1. The contents page.<br \/>\n5.2. A detailed annotation (up to 11000 characters including the intervals).<br \/>\n5.3.
