The Institute for Historical Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is a scientific institution whose main mission is to contribute to the advancement of historical knowledge through scientific research in accordance with academic standards, traditions and innovations. The subject of his activity is fundamental and specialized, theoretical and empirical research on the problems of Bulgarian and general history, as well as educational, expert and consulting activities for the needs of management and public practices related to the study, preservation and popularization of the cultural and historical heritage.
